Yes. The SR-8000 can communicate with any 9p remote to control the transport, arm tracks, send locate commands, send loop commands and read 9p time code.
Can the SR-8000 communicate with several 9pin machines?
The SR-8000 has only one 9pin port. And since the 9p protocol can only address 1 machine, the SR-8000 can only address one 9p machine. Through the MIDI port, the SR-8000 can address up to 8 different machines.
How can I use the SR-8000 in an ADR session?
Once the IN and OUT points are entered into the SR-8000, it will automatically generate ADR beeps. If GPI’s are needed, the SR-8000 also has 8 GPO’s.
Does the Video machine need to be the master?
It depends on the machine used. Most Video players are controlled via 9pin, in which case, the video machine would be set up as the master. However, machines like the Rosendahl BonsaiDRIVE can be controlled via MMC. In this case, the master machine could be a 9pin machine, such as Pro Tools.
