How do I set the frequency and the reference for the CX-4?
The CX-4's outputs are set in menu 04, just like the other DCD-8 outputs. The CX-4's outputs are identical to outputs 7 & 8. With the CX-4 installed, menu 04 reflects that by grouping outputs 9 &10 and 11 & 12 with 7 & 8.
Yes, Just like the other DCD-8 word clock outputs, the termination status of the CX-4's outputs can be viewed in menu 42. With the CX-4 installed, menu 42 adds 'Clk Out 9-12'. Remember that these are DC measurements and may not measure AC coupled inputs correctly.
Yes, if your DCD-8 was manufactured prior to February 2009 and has a serial number lower than 1284, a small modification must be
made to the main DCD-8 Printed Circuit Board. The modification will not affect any other functions of the DCD-8. Although simple, this modification requires expert soldering skills.
